The Home Service Directory Directory is a directory of traders vetted by trading standards.
If you need a job doing in the home or garden, always use a trader from the home services directory.
WHAT IS THE HOME SERVICES DIRECTORY?
- A list of traders in Yorkshire & the Humber region who have been vetted. The traders in the Directory have agreed to abide by the terms and conditions of the scheme to ensure you are dealt with fairly.
HOW CAN THE DIRECTORY HELP YOU?
- The directory provides you with peace of mind when choosing a trader to carry out work to your home or garden.
HOW HAVE WE BEEN VETTED?
Checks are carried out with:
- Trading Standards
- Police
- Registry of County Court judgements
Trading standards also check references from customers, insurance documents and paperwork used by the trader.
All traders in the directory have signed up to trade in accordance with terms and conditions set by Trading Standards.
If you are not satisfied with the work that MW Fabrication have done, then you can contact trading standards for help. We have agreed to follow a dispute resolution procedure designed to offer a way of resolving all complaints. Customer satisfaction is at the very heart of our business, we are 100% committed to all our customers and entering into this scheme proves and provides all are customers with peace of mind and satisfaction guaranteed.
POINTS TO REMEMBER...
- DO make sure you know what the work will cost and that there are no ‘hidden extras’.
- DO ask if there is a call out charge (the Home Services Directory contains this information).
- DO get quotes in writing. The quote should say exactly what work will be done. Find out whether VAT is included in the price.
- DO keep a note of the trader’s name, address and telephone number so you can contact them if problems arise.
- DO contact Consumer Direct if you have a complaint about a trader that you are unable to resolve. T: 08454 04 05 06 www.consumerdirect.gov.uk or www.hsd.org.uk
- DON’T be pressurized into having work done by traders who knock on your door or telephone you.
- DON’T pay the bill in full unless you are completely satisfied with the work carried out. Staged payments may be possible for larger jobs.
